You should use the screw to keep it in place but there are teeth on the arm and cog so the screw is not always necessary, unless it's going to be more of a permanent fixture.

@@grannysvids thanks. I was troubleshooting and thought I broke the servo by tightening the screw too hard. Instead, I found out that the servo was malfunctioning bc I had shorted the device. $60 later and a new raspberry pi later, my rover works! 😭😆

Last time I removed jumper wire with metal pliers while the device is on... I'm new to hardware.

I just used some small 6mm machine bolts and nuts, sometimes they can be too long but a dremmel tool is a great idea to trim them down.

Hello, sorry its been a while that you asked this question. It was just a servo motor and arduino. The plastic was some clear perspex I had lying around that I cut to size.hope this helps
